She\u2019s self-taught with inspiration from her grandmother, mother and sister.\u00a0 She began sewing in her 7th<\/sup> grade Home Economics Class.\u00a0 She has attended FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology) in New York City, for Patternmaking, Art (sketching designs), Draping and Tailoring.\u00a0 She has worked as a free lance sample maker for a well-known menswear designer (Andrew Fezza) in New York City.<\/p>\n

She has provided sewing classes at local fabric and sewing retail shops.\u00a0 She was the Neighborhood Group Leader for the Plantation group of The American Sewing Guild from 1993 \u2013 1998.\u00a0 As a neighborhood group leader she gave sewing instructions and sewing demonstrations.\u00a0 She\u2019s taken numerous classes at Sewing Expositions and Conferences from 1993 to the present.\u00a0 She was the former president of The American Sewing Guild\u2019s Ft. Lauderdale, Florida Chapter that had over 330 members.\u00a0 The American Sewing Guild, Inc. is a non-profit national organization with 136 chapters and over 20,220 sewing lovers nationwide.<\/p>\n

She manages her own home-based custom sewing business called Fashions by Elouise.\u00a0 With 37+ years of sewing experience, she specializes in alterations and fitting full-figured clients.\u00a0 DBA\/Fashions by Elouise commits to excellence by providing professionally sewn garments.\u00a0 Her prospects are acquired through word of mouth and through satisfied clients.\u00a0 Her talent is passed on through teaching teens and adults with her love of sewing.\u00a0 She served as the American Sewing Guild’s Neighborhood Group Leader at Keiser University\u2019s Fashion Design & Merchandising Department.\u00a0 She offered sewing instruction projects and provided other topics by presenters from the community.<\/p>\n

She\u2019s skilled in making bridal gowns, bridesmaid dresses, suits, blouses, tops, pants, tailored shirts and more.\u00a0 She tackles custom clothing and specializes in alterations for men and women.\u00a0 Do you have a favorite garment that\u2019s worn out?\u00a0 It can be duplicated without taking it apart.\u00a0 She can sketch and design a pattern from your description and make the completed product.\u00a0 Lining a ready-to-wear item wouldn\u2019t be a problem either.\u00a0 Sewing has brought her many years of joy and satisfaction.<\/p>\n
